BYD Launches Seal 6 EV in Malaysia
BYD has officially launched the Qin L EV in Malaysia, branded locally as the Seal 6 EV, marking the first overseas debut for this all-electric sedan. The model went on sale on September 26, 2025, becoming BYD’s seventh vehicle to enter the Malaysian market.

Both trims are equipped with a 56.64 kWh battery providing a maximum range of 485 km (NEDC standard).
Vehicle Dimensions
The Seal 6 EV measures 4,720 mm long, 1,880 mm wide, and 1,860 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The Malaysian model’s slightly lower height optimizes road clearance and driving comfort for local conditions.
Sales Performance and Market Position
BYD recently revised the Qin L EV lineup in China to stay competitive. Currently, the model is offered in three trims priced from 119,800 to 139,800 CNY.
The Qin family is one of BYD’s best-selling EV lineups, with 732,252 units sold in 2024, accounting for 17.14% of BYD’s total NEV sales.
In August 2025, Qin sales reached 62,561 units, a 16.05% increase from July despite an 11.21% decline year-on-year.
Overall, BYD’s NEV sales abroad in August hit 80,813 units, up 156.95% YoY, and January–August 2025 foreign sales totaled 625,816 units, rising 136.27% compared to last year.
